1.Kankriya:
Kankaria is the biggest lake in Ahmedabad (in earliar days it used to known, name by Qutub Hojj). Where all kings, or badshah, used to do bath in this lake. of the city of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.At one point of the circular lake, there opens a walkway which later merges into a garden called Nagina Wadi The inauguration ceremony for Rs 30 crore Kankaria lakefront held on December 25, 2008. The central garden and the walkway has recently been revamped.Upon completion of the renovation the lake was officially inaugurated in a week long event known as "Kankaria Carnival". It is the first of its kind in the history and is organised by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC).A train named 'Atal Express'(Named after former prime-minister of India Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birthday 25 December 2008) is being imported from London, the train will circle the lake on a 4.5 km track at a speed of 10 km/h.
2.Akshardham:
Akshardham Gandhinagar is one of the largest temples in the Indian state of Gujarat. The temple complex combines devotions, art, architecture, education, exhibitions and research at one place.Pramukh Swami Maharaj is the spiritual leader of BAPS Sanstha. He has created international cultural complexes like; the Akshardham in New Delhi India, the Akshardham in Gandhinagar India, The Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Neasden, London, Atlanta, Georgia, Houston, Texas, Chicago, Illinois, Los Angeles, California, Toronto, Canada, and Nairobi.
3.Adalaj Vav:
The Adalaj step-well is a popular tourist attraction of the city and is situated 18 km. south of Gandhinagar. The well was built in 1499 A.D. by Queen Rudabai. The step well or Vav, as it is called in Gujarati, is intricately carved and is several stories in depth. The designs on its walls and pillars include, leaves, flowers, birds, fish and other breathtaking ornamental designs. In the past, these step wells were frequented by travellers and caravans as stopovers along trade routes.
4.Sabarmati Ashram:
Sabarmati Ashram also known as (Gandhi Ashram, Harijan Ashram, or Satyagraha Ashram) is located in the Ahmedabad suburb of Sabarmati adjoining to famous Ashram Road, at the bank of River Sabarmati,4 miles away from the city Town Hall. This was one of the residences of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. This ashram is now a national monument by the Government of India due to its significance in the Indian independence movement in the form of the Dandi March in 1930
5.Culture:
Garba is a very graceful form of dance mainly performed by females in a circular formation, it is in reverences of goddess Ambaji. The basics of the dance are singing and clapping rhythmically while going around the goddess. Today many modifications are prevalent to the basic pattern and even men are free to join in. Women are dressed in exquisitely embroidered, set in mirrors cholis, ghaghras and bandhani dupattas! Extensive jewelry in the form of necklaces, bracelets and anklets are also worn. The typical dress code of men is kehediyu, chudidar and a turban.
